Google AI Boosts Online Searches with Artificial Intelligence Support
Google has announced plans to give precedence to artificial intelligence in processing user search queries on its search engine. Now, AI-generated summaries will appear at the forefront of search results, pushing down website links related to the search topic.
The company has introduced three new features, powered by its generative AI, to improve user search experiences. These updates are part of Google’s Search Generative Experience (SGE), as detailed in a company blog post.
Leveraging artificial intelligence, Google’s SGE can quickly generate concise summaries, which include images, videos, and links, that are relevant to user searches.
For example, searching for “The smallest bird of prey” will now result in an image of the species being displayed above traditional site links in the search outcomes.
Moreover, Google intends to integrate brief videos into search results in the near future.
The company notes that advancements in its AI system have halved the time required to produce summaries, facilitating quicker search responses.
In a significant update, publication dates are now provided alongside all linked webpages near the AI-generated content.
With this AI-centric revamp of search responses, some users have expressed that finding information has become more straightforward.
